Jim has been in the insurance industry since he was hired by MetLife in 2003. He has been involved in the community, dedicating time to coaching kids in soccer, softball, and the field events for the track team at Winnacunnet High School. He was the chairperson of the Hampton Academy Renovation Committee. He is a founding member of the BNI Atlantic Business Connections chapter, a networking group in the seacoast of NH. Jim is on the board of directors of The Make-A-Wish Foundation and was elected in the town of Hampton as a Trustee of the Trust Funds. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Sonja, and daughter, Kendall. Jim and Sonja take their scooters to the beach or Sunday brunch on summer weekends. In the winter, the Deardens often ski at their family house on Songo Pond near Sunday River.
